💬 Who We Are
We’re not just a service - we’re people who’ve lived it. Parents, carers, and professionals who know what it feels like to be unheard, unsupported, and exhausted by systems that don’t work.
Moving MindSpace is a trauma-informed support business founded by Peter, Charlene, and Christopher - professionals and parents with lived experience of navigating complex needs, SEND systems, and neurodivergent family life.
We built this for the families falling through the gaps - because we were one of them. Our combined experience spans counselling, life coaching, business coaching, working within the justice system, and supporting neurodivergent individuals in education and beyond.
🧠 What We Do
We provide relationship-led, trauma-informed services for neurodivergent children, young people, and families. Our work focuses on emotional wellbeing, system navigation, carer mental health, and flexible alternatives to traditional education or support.
Our services include:
- 1:1 creative mentoring through games, passions and self-expression
- Carer and parent mental health support
- SEND navigation, EHCP advocacy, and school exclusion advice
- Alternative provision pathways and ASDAN learning
- Justice prevention, post-crisis care, and creative rehabilitation
- Peer circles, sibling support, emotional toolkits and PDA-focused guidance
We believe that real support isn’t just about ticking boxes - it’s about helping families feel safe, seen, and supported.
💡 Why We Exist
Too many neurodivergent children are misunderstood.
Too many parents are blamed instead of supported.
Too many families are left to break down in systems that expect them to ‘just cope’.
We created Moving Mindspace to offer something different — something real. Because when we support the whole family — not just the child — everyone has the chance to thrive.
You don’t have to fit into a system that doesn’t understand you. We’ll meet you where you are.
🌱 Our Story
Moving MindSpace was founded by Peter, Charlene and Christopher - three parents and practitioners who had experienced first-hand how isolating, confusing, and disjointed the world can be when your child doesn’t fit the system.
After years of seeing families excluded, misdiagnosed or worn down by battles for support, they decided to build something better - a service built from compassion, lived experience, and creative connection.
Based in Essex, we work across the UK with children, young people, parents, carers, and professionals who want real, relational support that adapts to who they are. Their backgrounds include counselling, coaching, justice system advocacy, SEND support, and family mental health - giving them both personal and professional insight into what families really need.
🌟 Our Core Values
• Lived Experience First – We’ve been through it ourselves. We lead with understanding, not judgement.
• Trauma-Informed by Design – Safety, choice and connection guide everything we offer.
• Creativity Over Compliance – We don’t expect people to fit the system. We help build what they actually need.
• Real-World Advocacy – We speak up, show up, and walk with families through the hardest times.
• Joy is Allowed – Even in chaos, there’s room for fun, play, and self-expression.
